So what is wrong with teens today?

So i have a question for you. Is it the movies that try to mimic teen behavior, or is it the teens that try to mimic the behavior portrayed by teens in the movies? Because if you think about it each of those options expose a sad truth about our society today. If it is that the movies are trying to copy the bahavior of normal everyday teens, then we have dug ourself into such a deep hole that there is no getting out. I say that because that means it is the norm. in our society for teens boys to be obsessed with sex and drinking, and they will do anything to get it. It also means that any morals that our society had in the past will be long gone by the time this generation begins to rule the country. But, if it is the other way, and teens get their ideas on how to behave from the movies there is still hope of change. Because if thats the case then all we need to do to solve this problem is change the way the media portrays teens to a portrayal of good moral values, good judgment, and self controll. Thats it, sounds easy right... i think not!

Organization

So i guess i am going to try to just write all my thoughts in this post in an attempt to organize my thought. So one point i am really trying to get across is how much the movie superbad affected teens actions. And this is one major point that comes to my mind: There was a t-shirt that said "I Am McLovin". Which is refering to the part of the movie where Fogle gets a fake ID and the name on the it reads "McLovin". This really makes me think because that part of the film is one of the least innapproprite parts. So if that had such a huge impact that it was printed on a t-shirt(that alot of kids wore) then what affect did the sexa dn drinking have? I thinks that its easy to say that this is just the type of entertainment of this new generation, and that it is just here to make people laugh not influence them. But these movies define teen life, and the goals of many teens today. So i guess one question i have is: If this new type of teen comedy movies never came out, what would our society be like today?

What am i doing?

So ive done tons of research and spent alot of time that has seamingly gotten me nowhere. Yesterday while reading through a book entitled "Getting Ideas from the Movies" i started wondering how i am going to use all this material i have found to bring new knowledge to this topic? I asked myself "What am i trying to accomplish with this paper?" And i then realized that i have no clue! My deadline in creaping closer and closer and i have yet to begin my draft. I now am forcing myself to write, which usually ends badly, just so i can have my draft done in time for the peer editing session in class(which is this friday!!). I know that my procrastionation is the culprate, but now i need to focus on what i can do inorder to straighten out my thoughts and get them on paper. Even as i write this blog post my mind in going crazy wondering what i am going to write that will fill 10 pages!!!

New topic

So i have come to learn that everything i thought i knew about beer and its health bennifts is wrong. So i have decided to change my topic to how the movies effect teen behavior, and how the way movies portray teens affects how teens act in society. For this paper i am going to use the research of many experts on the topic of getting ideas from the movies, and also i am using the movie SuperBad as a reference. But one thing i really need to consider is: what am i going to accomplish with this paper? Because many other people have written papers about how pop. culture and hte media have negative affects on teen behavior, so how am i going to bring new knowledge to this subject area? That is something i will discuss more in later posts.
