Why is beer bad?

So I'm trying to understand why so many people are against beer drinking, or just alcohol in general. Don't get me wrong, i don't think everyone should go out and start drinking like a fish, but what is so bad about drinking that so many people condemn it? Ive been brainstorming why negatives of drinking and this is what is got so far: 1. Can lead to alcoholism 2. Can cause diabetes 3. Can cause liver problems 4. Can cause you to make "bad decisions". But there is a common trend among all these problems, they can be solved by not drinking in certain situations.

I think that a major reason people condemn drinking is because of a few people who drink in the wrong situations and therefore cause trouble or worse, hurt themselves or someone else.

Beer drinking= better health?

So i think i decided on my research topic. The other day I was searching through the data bases and found alot of information about how drinking beer is good for you. There is research that shows drinking beer can help improve bone density and improve cardiovascular health. These findings really surprised me because I've never heard of them on any TV show or in any health articles. So if it is actually good for you, why is the public ignoring this? As of now I'm considering focusing my paper on why people choose not to accept the fact that drinking beer(in moderation of course) is good for you.
